An authentic country Hepplewhite cherry chest or dresser was hand made about 1800, and said to be from Connecticut. Clean lines and expert workmanship are beautiful, large drawers have tiny hand cut dovetails and chamfered bottoms, a mouse has chewed one drawer side.
Brass pulls are old but not original, only one keyhole escutcheon survives. There are stains, mars, repairs and shrinkage separations from age for character on this wonderful antique furniture.
The finish is in very fine condition. Measurements are 43 1/2" wide, 21" deep and 42" tall.
