A spectacular late Victorian or Eastlake period bedroom set from about 1880 includes a marble top dresser with beveled mirror and a bed that fits a queen size mattress as shown in photos.
Solid walnut with burl panels, the gleaming finish is in excellent condition. Incised or "spoon" carving and geometric moldings are characteristic of the period. The bed has been expertly adapted to fit a standard modern queen size box spring and mattress, wooden slats underneath are included as well.
"Tennessee Red" marble on the chest or dresser has been polished and sealed to resist stains. The swivel beveled mirror is also in excellent condition. Brasses are original on drawers with round "pin and cove" dovetail joints of the era. Heroic artistry and detailing are beautiful on this American made antique furniture.
Bed size is 86" long, 67" wide, the head board is 77" tall and the foot board is 32" high.
Dresser measurements are 42 1/2" wide, 20" deep and 6' 8" tall.
