A spectacular small sideboard, server or buffet from about 1925 was intended as a "hunt board" to serve a cold supper of smoked meats, fish and cheese after hunters returned.
Gracefully curved, there is inlaid marquetry and banding of rosewood, burl and ebony. Richly carved of walnut, the top is genuine Macassar Ebony.
Made by "Rockford Furniture of Rockford, Ill," this grand antique furniture was crafted for a summer mansion on Green Lake, Wisconsin.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this palatial American made ensemble. The trestle base with a center finial adds strength to the robust frame. Patinated brass hardware is original.
