Hand made about 1875 for a railroad station, this late Victorian or Eastlake solid oak desk is paneled and finish on all sides.
The deep brown finish is excellent, there are scrapes on the far panel inside the kneehole, see photos.
Deep drawers have hand cut dovetails and original nickel hardware. The top has a slight slant to make it easier to use train timetables and ledgers.
Rugged and strong American antique furniture, the top slopes up from 30" at the front to 31 1/2" high at the back. Measurements are 51 1/2" wide, 33" deep, the kneehole is 17" wide and 24" tall.
