Cherries hand carved in high relief add a whimsical note to this marble top server, sideboard or buffet that would also be a nice base for a wide screen TV.
Dating from the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1880, this beautiful piece is solid walnut with rich burl panels and deep moldings, rosy brasses are original. The finish also appears original with later revarnishing and exceptional warm antique patina. There are only minor mars at the edges.
Richly grained "Tennessee Red" marble on the top is undamaged, it is newly sealed and polished. Drawers are dovetailed, doors have raised panels on this lavish American made furniture.
Measurements are 66" long, 24" deep and 37 1/2" tall.
