Stunning furniture in the Hepplewhite manner from about 1910, this demilune or half round console table opens to a round game table.
Shimmering mahogany wood was inlaid with intricate classical marquetry of satinwood, rosewood and mother of pearl.
The gleaming finish is superb, enhancing the intricate artistry. There are small mars and touchups, and the top has a warp due to age when closed, see photos. The inside has a saddle leather top, with natural irregularities and imperfections as shown.
On the backside, a drawer with hand cut dovetails pull out with the center back leg, forming a support when the top is opened to the game position. Brass wheels and mounts are original on this delicate but sturdy American made table.
Measurements when closed are 36" wide, 18" deep and 30" tall, open size is 36" diameter.
