Carved of solid oak about 40 years ago, a spectacular vintage executive desk has raised panels and carved grapevine motifs. The lustrous satiny finish is excellent. Brass hardware is original, drawers are finished inside and have dovetailed joints.
This appears to be made by famous maker, "Romweber of Indiana," but we see no signature and cannot be positive. On the opposite side are bookshelves and two compartments with doors, plus a pull out interview shelf.
In the old English manner, there are "butterfly" joiners and wooden pegs, see photos. The file drawer has an adjustable rest. A carved pen tray is in the center drawer.
Truly the finest quality American made furniture, size is 72" long, 38" deep, 30 1/2" tall, the kneehole is 31" wide and just over 24" high.
Matching pieces in photos are priced and sold separately, call or email for availability.
