A spectacular 1860's Victorian period poster bed was sometimes called a "half tester" because of the half size canopy over the headboard.
Solid mahogany with matched flame grain panels, the hand carved crests are spectacular in high relief. The gleaming finish is superb, enhancing the shimmering natural grain.
This historic antique was expertly adapted to fit a standard modern queen size mattress as shown, the spring and mattress unit in photos are 15" thick. There is a removable frame inside the canopy, ready to be upholstered to match any decor. Originally, protective mosquito netting hung from the canopy. This American made furniture from St. Louis disassembles for easier moving.
Measurements of this palatial bed are 72" wide, 97" long and 8' 4 1/2" tall.
