Carved Oak 1900 Antique Queen Size Bedroom Set

A magnificent two piece 1900 Victorian era queen size bedroom set was carved of solid quarter sawn oak. Both pieces have a rich brown finish in excellent condition.

The bed has been expertly adapted to fit a standard modern queen size mattress as shown, the opulent chest or dresser has a monumental original shaped and wide beveled mirror. There is some antique "smoke" to the mirror, which is swivel mounted in a pierced harp frame.

The high relief carving is dramatic and graceful with spectacular shell crests, there are small shrinkage separations from age, see photos.

Original wide side rails were extended on the bed, which measures 86" long, 72" wide, the headboard is 87" tall and the footboard is 38" high. The grand dresser is 50" wide, 25" deep, 82" tall and the base is 26" high. Large dovetailed drawers have original brasses on this American made furniture, truly the best of its kind.
