Made in Italy, a beautiful 1979 "Aurora" harp was signed by famous maker, "Salvi." This concert harp is not in playable condition.
Hand made of curly maple, the original brightly polished finish is in very fine condition with small mars at the edges. Over the years, the tremendous pressure of all the tight strings has warped the base - see photos, as is typical of harps over time. To become playable again, this requires rebuilding by a skilled artisan and would cost around $6000 according to Lyon and Healy Harp. The current price of this classic Aurora full size orchestral or solo harp is $24,200 as on their website.
This glorious vintage harp is now partly strung and is a sculpture and not a playable instrument at this time, it is a work of art. There is no longer any tension from the strings.
Serial number is "2556" and the original shipping case is included.
Measurements of this dramatic instrument are 45" wide and 74" tall.
