Victorian Marble Top Carved Sideboard Buffet

Carved of solid walnut about 1870, a Victorian sideboard or buffet has a marble top. There are deep moldings and burl panels on this American hand made furniture.

The original finish has been waxed and polished, it has warm antique patina and enough mars and wear for character. An occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth will keep it lustrous.

The marble top has a few stains, see photos, it has been polished and sealed for durability. There is a small sag in the center, as improbable as it seems.

Drawers have hand cut dovetails on this stately cabinet. The key in the door is a handle only, the elaborate lock does not work. Measurements are 51" wide, 23" deep and 37" tall.
