Said to be from Connecticut, an 1820 era Hepplewhite period chest or dresser was crafted of vibrant solid cherry.
Entirely hand made, drawers have beautiful tiny hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. The finish is very fine with wonderful warm patina and lots of character - stains, dings and a charming hand carved repair on the left edge of the top drawer, see photos.
American furniture with stellar country workmanship and hand planing marks, the top is a single 21" wide board. Tapered columns are wonderful.
Measurements of this historic chest are 42" wide, 22" deep, 43 1/2" tall and the top is 41" high.
