Victorian Eastlake Cylinder Roll Top Desk & Bookcase

A solid walnut late Victorian or Eastlake period cylinder roll top desk dates from about 1880. The satiny finish is in excellent condition, enhancing the intricate burl panels.

Under the smooth rolling cylinder or "barrel" roll top is a pull out writing surface with a saddle leather insert plus cubicles and tiny drawers. Upper bookshelves adjust on wooden supports. The center lower drawer has hand cut dovetail joints.

Measurements are 40" wide, 22" deep, and 7'4" tall The writing surface is 29" from the floor
