Hand made about 1870 in Wisconsin, a charming country pine jelly cupboard has wonderful warm patina and lots of antique character - mars, stains and wear. Waxed and buffed, the glowing finish is very well preserved, it needs only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth to maintain its luster.
Made to hold the fall harvest jams and jellies to last a whole year until the next harvest, there was always a lock to keep hungry children out. The lock is still there, but the latch on the other door has worn the shelf away and doesn't work, presumably the result of numerous burglary attempts.
American made rustic furniture, size is 45" wide, 19" deep and 46 1/2" tall.
