Carved of solid walnut about 1875 during the late Victorian or Eastlake period, a charming secretary desk has burl panels.
The finish is in very beautiful condition with a few mars and stains at the edges plus a few warps for antique character. There are also old India ink stains inside, see photos.
Hardware is original, the lock and key work on the dropfront of this American hand made furniture. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and there is gallery bookshelf on top.
Measurements are 29" wide, 15" deep, 63" tall and the faux leather writing surface slopes up from 29 1/2" high at the front when opened.
