Carved French Oak Black Marble Top 1920's Chest

Hand carved of solid oak in France about 1920, this charming Provincial chest has a top of famous "Nero Porturo" black marble from Italy, polished and sealed to resist stains.

Expert detailing is lovely on the base, which still has its original finish in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm luster.

Drawers have original embossed brass hardware and hand cut dovetail joints. Size is 24" wide, 16" deep and 33" tall.
