Called an "Os de Mouton" because of its "lamb leg" shape, this hand carved stool or ottoman dates from around 1800, after the original Louis XIII design from the 1600's.
The wormy walnut base is strong and secure with hand pegged joinery. The finish has warm antique patina and has been waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster.
This antique furniture from France has been newly upholstered in European fabric.
Size is 21" wide, 19" deep and 18" high.
