Victorian Antique 1880 Travel Lap Desk

The Victorian period version of a laptop, this 1880 era travel or lap desk was used to hold stationery, correspondence and ink bottles.

There is a tilting pen rest inside this American made antique accessory. The original finish is inscribed for "Hattie," and there are stains and wear as shown.

Closed size is 12" wide, 8 1/2" deep and 4" tall, it opens to a slanted velvet writing surface 12" x 17."
