Victorian 1875 Antique Fainting Couch, Chaise or Recamier

Hand carved of solid walnut in the 1870's, this fainting couch was also called a chaise or "recamier" in French.

The sturdy frame has a beautiful finish on this American made furniture. The cut velvet upholstery is not worn but has spots we have not attempted to clean, see photos.

Springs are supportive and dimensions of this nostalgic antique are 6' 1" long, 25" deep, 30" high and the seat is 17" tall.
