Carved Gold 1890's Carved Grapes Mirror

Carved with grape, shell and floral motifs, this dramatic gold mirror was hand crafted about 1890. Traces of the original 24k gold leaf are still visible in the burnished gold finish,which has numerous restorations over the years.

American made antique furniture, lavish details are highly three dimensional, including grape vines with fruit.

Joints show slight shrinkage separations from age. There is "smoke" to the slightly wavy glass mirror. The backside has a tin cover for protection. This is a heavy mirror and needs sturdy mounts to be hung.
