Joan of Arc 1890 Antique French Carved Marble Bust

The French heroine, general and saint, "Joan of Arc," is the subject of this hand carved marble bust, engraved on the base, "Jeanne d' Arc."

Two different colors of marble were artistically sculpted and delicately engraved on this work of art from about 1890. There are minor stains and wear at the edges of this poignant sculpture from France. The multicolor grain are on her right shoulder is natural to the stone, the shading on her left cheek may be natural as there are other areas with the same color, or may be a stain, it is unclear. The sculptor is unfortunately unknown, but very skilled.

Measurements are 11 1/2" wide, 5 1/2" deep and 11" tall.
