Hand crafted in the early 1900's as a working ice sled, this Wisconsin rustic antique could be an interesting coffee or cocktail table. Originally it was used to carry blocks of ice that were sawed from a frozen river, then pulled by hand or a by a small goat or pony.
Blocks were packed in sawdust and amazingly lasted through the following summer. Pine with wrought iron hardware, the top box rests on two independent bases with iron runners. The old finish is well worn with charming patina.
Overall dimensions of this primitive antique are 20" wide, 55" long, and 17" high.
