Solid cherry with matched flame grain mahogany on the front, this chest or dresser dates from the American Empire period about 1835.
The silken finish is in excellent condition on this antique East Coast furniture. There are shrinkage separations, see photos. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Hand planing marks, threaded wooden knobs and square nails are authentic.
Size is 44" wide, 22" deep and 35" tall.
