An imposing library bookcase was hand crafted in Germany in the 1890's of oak with ebony decoration. Carved three dimensional lion heads are mounted on burl panels.
The original finish is very well preserved, waxed and polished, all that is needed to preserve the warm antique patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
There is a warp to the right door, losses to the left of the crown and small shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Doors have original wavy glass, the lock does not work, so the key is handle only. Upper shelves adjust on wooden supports. The crown is detachable for easier moving. Dimensions are 43" wide, 16" deep and 7' 2" tall.
