Made for a bookbinder in the 1890's, this cast iron book press fits volumes up to 10" x 12 1/2."
A large iron wheel turns the giant screw to flatten books after they are sewn together, it also works for cracking walnuts. The old paint is well worn on this American made publishing antique.
Overall size is 17" long, 11" wide and 12 1/2" tall.
