Country French 1860's Antique Primitive Bread Dough Proofing Trough or Box

Hand crafted about 1860, this Country French bread trough or box held dough to "proof" or rise, the removable top was for kneading the dough. There are losses and wear on this primitive farmhouse furniture from France, see photos.

The base has hand cut dovetail joints and still has its hand painted grained finish, the lid was revarnished for durability.

Measurements are 36" long, 17" wide and 26" tall.
