A cast iron cook stove from the 1890's is signed, "Legreverone, St. Etienne, Loire," in France. Hand painted and embossed tiles are undamaged on this antique, functional as a kitchen island.
Originally fired with charcoal, there is a smoke vent at the back. The worn iron has been sealed with clear finish for protection. A cover at left is over the hot water reservoir. This historic stove is not in working condition, and would not be safe to use.
Dimensions are 36" wide, 25" deep and 37" tall to the lid handle. The surface is 31" tall.
