A small Japanese "kanto naga Hibachi" brazier from the early 1900's is curly elm with a copper lining and has been fitted to use as a coffee table.
A removable piece of glass covers the copper fire area. Originally, a small charcoal fire was used for cooking, making tea and heating sake wine. The removable copper liner is light weight and would need support underneath if something heavy were placed inside.
Drawers for towels, tea leaves and dried seaweed were built with wooden pegs.
The restored finish is in excellent condition.
Size is 30" wide, 19" deep and 12" tall.
