A giant solid copper cauldron or fireplace kettle has a wrought iron handle.
The signature reads, "J.P Schaum, Lancaster, Penn.," in the Amish country. Over 100 years old, this giant hand wrought pot was probably used to simmer apple butter, either outside over a large fire or in a giant kitchen fireplace. The outside is blackened by smoke.
Size is 28" across at the handle and 19" tall.
