A solid mahogany coffee or cocktail table has a removable tray with fingerholes that was said to be a traditional "seed sorter," for shaking in the wind to separate seeds from chaff, catching the seeds on the high end.
The hand crafted tray has a single wide plank bottom with a shrinkage separation from age, and appears to date from around 1840. Corners have hand cut dovetail joints on this antique from England. The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving mars and wear for antique character. A custom crafted base is about 60 years old.
Overall size is 34" long, 20 1/2" wide and 22" tall.
