Country French Carved Fruitwood Antique 1790 Bible Stand or Folio Desk

An authentic Country French Bible stand or folio desk was hand carved about 1790 of solid cherry and apple fruitwood.

The restored gleaming finish is in excellent condition on this antique furniture from France. Every surface shows hand hewn planing marks and there are shrinkage separations and warps from age, see photos. Joints have carved wooden pegs. The door lock and key work.

Dimensions are 26" wide, 19" deep and the top slopes up from 29" at the front to 35" at the backside.
