New England 1830's New England Antique Rope Poster Bed, Converted to Full Size

A "rope" bed used rope woven around wooden pegs to make a "spring" on this hand crafted New England poster bed from the 1830's.

Solid maple and poplar hardwoods, a "cannon ball" bed has an excellent new finish. Entirely hand crafted, the deeply turned posts are beautiful on this antique furniture. Modern steel side rails fit a standard full or double size mattress. A new upholstered pallet or bunky board is included as shown to use instead of a spring unit, to keep the mattress from being too high.

Measurements are 53" wide, 84" long, the headboard is 48" tall and the "blanket rail" footboard is 46" high.
