Victorian 1870 Antique Cylinder or Barrel Roll Top Library Desk, Walnut & Burl

A Victorian period cylinder or barrel roll top desk was hand carved of solid walnut with burl panels about 1870.

The restored finish is in excellent condition, flattering the intricate burl. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. The roll top glides smoothly. Inside are pigeon holes and drawers for papers, the writing surface pulls out. Lower drawers have hand cut dovetail joints on this American made antique library furniture. The crest is gracefully carved and pierced.

Measurements are 44" wide, 22" deep and 56" tall, the desktop is 30" high.
