Victorian Antique 1870's Hand Carved Walnut Queen Size Bed

A spectacular hand carved solid walnut Victorian period bed from about 1870 has been expertly adapted to fit a queen size mattress.

The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Deeply sculpted carving is the work of a master. Original side rails have been extended, and the demonstrator queen size mattress and spring unit in photos is 18" thick together. Wood support slats are included. There are shrinkage separations from age plus losses to the edges of the finials, see photos.

Dimensions are 82" long, 68" wide, the headboard is 93" tall and the footboard is 36" high.
