An inlaid parquetry chess or checkers game table dates from about 1900, and shows Art Nouveau influence. Hundreds of tiny carved pieces of mahogany, walnut, ebony and birch were expertly formed into a patterned game top.
The renewed finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. There are applied decorations on the skirt and pedestal base. Two "secret" drawers are for playing pieces. The underside is signed "Frank Bartik."
Size is 25" square and 30" tall.
