A bronze statue of a man with a sword from around 1890 is signed "Kowalczewski" and has a marble base.
The dark patina on this sculpture is beautiful with a little wear for antique character. There are small losses at the edges of the classical pedestal.
Paul Ludwig Kowalczewski was born in Poland in 1865, he studied and worked in Berlin, Germany, where he died in 1910. His works are widely displayed in museums across northern Europe.
Size of this work of art is 4" x 4" at the base, 6" across and 12 1/2" tall.
