Pair of Italian Renaissance Antique 1890 Chairs, Carved Birds & Faces

A marvelous pair of hall or occasional chairs were lavishly hand carved of solid walnut in Italy about 1890, with three dimensional birds, classical faces and grapes. Masterful artistry is beautiful.

The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Frames are strong and tight, reglued to serve another generation. Seats are newly upholstered on this historic and opulent furniture.

Dimensions are 21" wide, 22" deep, 49" tall and seats are 20" high.
