A large traditional armchair was hand carved of solid fruitwood during the 1920's in France, and has hand stitched needlepoint and petit point upholstery with birds and courting figures.
The richly detailed frame is sturdy and wiggle-free on this European furniture. There is nice patina on the original finish, which has been waxed and buffed. Genuine wool upholstery has some wear and fading for a little antique character, the seat is quite firm.
Measurements are 28" wide, 27" deep, 40" tall and the seat is 17" high.
