A primitive baby cradle was hand crafted around 1860 of wide planks of solid oak, made with square cut nails.
The old finish is well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain its antique patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. This country furniture is American made.
The rockers have been cut flat, probably to keep the cradle from rocking easily. If desired, the rockers can be curved again for easier rocking.
Size is 26 1/2" long, 17" wide and 24 1/2" tall.
