An Empire period hall console or sofa table dates from about 1820. Hand carved of solid mahogany with beautiful figured flame grain, the top is a single wide plank. Spiral legs and the acanthus design details are authentic.
The old hand rubbed finish is very well preserved with warm patina and just enough mars and wear for a little antique character, see photos. On the back, there was once a dropleaf and gateleg on this historic American made furniture, see photos.
Size is 45 1/2" wide, 21" deep and 29" tall.
