Traditional Vintage Georgian Style Secretary Desk & Bookcase, Maddox NY #29233

A traditional Georgian style mahogany secretary desk with bookcase top from about 70 years ago is signed by noted maker, "Maddox of N. Y." The serpentine front, claw and ball feet and the graceful pediment with a center finial are authentic.

The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving a few mars on the desk top for a little antique character. Inside are secret compartments plus small drawers and cubicles. The drop front has a working lock and rests on "automatic" supports that extend outward when opened.

Drawers have solid oak dovetailed sides and original brass pulls on this American made vintage furniture. Bookcase doors have grill work and shelves have grooves to display plates.

Dimensions are 38" wide, 22" deep, 81 1/2" tall and the desk top is 29 1/2" high.
