A Victorian silver serving spoon is signed "J. Bachman," a silversmith who worked in New York City about 1830-1850. This antique spoon is "coin" silver, or about 800/1000 pure, compared to modern sterling silver at 925/1000 pure.
There is a difficult to decipher hand engraved monogram plus a "wrinkle" in the bowl, see photos.
Length is 8 1/2" and weight is 1.5 toy ounces.
