A Spanish Colonial set of six spectacular dining chairs from about 60 years ago was deeply carved of solid mahogany and has original tooled leather "castle" motif backs and new saddle leather seats. Brass nailheads are original.
Hand crafted by "Jesus Ballester Marco of Valencia, Spain," labels were lost when reupholstered, but remain on the matching pieces.
The restored gleaming finish is in excellent condition on this vintage furniture. Deeply sculpted lion paw feet and detailing are exceptional. Frames are tight and sturdy, reglued to serve another generation. Seats are comfortable.
Measurements of the the two armchairs are 28" wide, 27" deep, 51 1/2" tall and seats are 19" high and 18" deep. Four side chairs are 18" wide, 21" deep, 45" tall and seats are 19" high and 16" deep.
