An early version of the pump or reed organ, this melodeon from the 1840's has a genuine rosewood case. Signed "Dreher & Kinnard of Cleveland, Ohio," the bellows have been rebuilt. This antique musical instrument is in excellent playing condition with strong sound.
The old restored finish is in very good condition with a few scratches and mars for a little character. Original keys are natural bone. The music desk folds closed and this instrument becomes a console table.
The right pedal operates the bellows, the left is a "swell" for louder sound.
Dimensions when closed are 53" long, 25" deep and 31" tall.
