Signed "Edison Model A250," this wind up phonograph has a mahogany case. This machine dates from around 1912-14, and cost a whopping $250 at the time. Gold plated mounts and the carved claw feet show this to be a high end model.
In great working order, this top of the line record player has beautiful tone. The gold plated head plays only thick Edison records.
The original finish is very well preserved with a little crazing or crackling from age, see photos.
There is a speed control and automatic off switch plus lever drop cuing and pull up lever for volume control. A selection of about 50 thick Edison records is included with this American made antique furniture.
Measurements when closed are 23" wide excluding the removable crank, 23" deep and 51" tall.
