This traditional English style secretary desk was hand carved about 50 years ago by a skilled Indiana cabinetmaker after a 1750 original design. His drawing plans are included. Authentic hand cut dovetail joints are visible on the top corners and drawers as well. The drop front rests on pull out supports.
The restored gleaming finish is in excellent condition on richly figured solid walnut, the inlaid keyhole escutcheon is maple.
There are keys for the interior compartment and drop front. Hardware is solid brass on this vintage library furniture.
Measurements are 37" wide, 22" deep, 42 1/2" tall and the desk top is 31" high.
