Shipper: STORE PICK UP
A Victorian hand stitched needlepoint and tiny petit point tapestry from the 1860's depicts "Timothy Being Taught the Scriptures." St. Timothy was taught by his mother and grandmother, early Christians, and became the first bishop of Ephesus and died a martyr.
This needlework is mounted under glass with a reverse painted gold leaf and black mat with some losses, see photos. The solid walnut carved frame has an original finish in very good condition plus a genuine gold leaf liner. On the back is a label fragment from the New York City framer on William Street.
