A Victorian period desk was hand carved of solid walnut about 1870, and has cylinder or barrel roll top with curly grain. The pull out writing surface has new saddle leather.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique library furniture. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Small drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, lower drawers have round pin and cove joinery. Hand carved detailing is classical, octagonal legs are shaped and turned. This desk disassembles for easier delivery.
Measurements are 56" wide, 30" deep, 59" tall and the desktop is 31" high, legroom is 24" underneath.
