A charming shepherdess scanning for her sheep is the subject of this naturalistic statue from about 1900, labeled "Gardeuse du Moutons," signed by one of famous family of sculptors, "Francois Moreau." Hippolyte Francois Moreau lived 1832-1927.
There is a French foundry stamp on this "spelter" work of art, a metal alloy similar to pewter. The bronze finish is in very fine condition, and there is an old restoration to one arm, see photos.
Size is 7" across and 21" tall.
