A spectacular French style carved six piece bedroom set from the 1930's includes a queen size bed, pair of nightstands, dresser and wall mirror and a tall chest on chest. Signed by famous maker, "Rockford of Rockford, Ill.," lavish inlaid marquetry includes shimmering matched satinwood and rosewood. Fronts and sides are gracefully curved. Embossed hardware is original.
The restored gleaming finish is in excellent condition, the deep gold decoration on the carving is original. Drawers have dovetail joints and curved fronts.
Expertly adapted to queen size, the bed includes wood cross supports as shown. The demonstrator mattress and spring unit in photos are 18" thick together. Measurements are 90" long, 72" wide, the headboard is 56" tall and the footboard is 25" high.
The dresser has two secret drawers that open to the backside as shown. There is antique "smoke" in the mirror to show its age. If this is not charming, it can be replaced. Measurements are 60" wide, 24" deep and 35 1/2" tall, the mirror is 47" wide, 47" tall and 2 1/2" deep.
Tall chest size is 45" wide, 21" deep and 54" tall. Oval shaped nightstands are 16" wide, 20" deep and 32" tall.
